One thing I noticed about this line of laptops, especially in the Ryzen series - the fan runs extremely hot and all the time. The first one I purchased had a fan that was off its bearing and made an annoying noise. The replacement would run hot as well even with a quieter and smoother fan. The only thing that has helped is a laptop cooling pad to keep air flowing in from under the laptop so it can properly eject from the left. Otherwise this laptop is very prone to overheating. Poor thermal design. The Spectre has the same design flaw. If you're curious as to why I keep purchasing HP laptops its because they're preferred by the person I purchased it for. I don't use them and never will since I've never seen an HP laptop last more than 5 years. Good luck.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't know if it's normal but yes, the fan runs almost constantly and yes, the bottom get's extremely hot.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, it is perfectly normal for the fan to be operating at all times--even low RPM is still maintaining a cool and comfortable temperature for the laptop! We recommend making sure you're using the laptop on a flat, smooth, and well ventilated surface like a lap desk, or a table! We caution against having it rest long term on your clothes/skin, or on surfaces like a cushion, a bed, or a carpet/rug floor.
