I couldn't get the fingerprint reader to work at first, then I realized that I was touching the volume control, not the reader next to it. It works fine for me now. As far as heat, I have noticed that it puts off a fair amount of heat when the backlight for the keyboard is on. If I'm in a well-lighted area, I turn it off, which saves battery, as well.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The first time I charged the computer, it became very hot. It hasn't since. I haven't used the touch ID to unlock it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Solid state drives are NOT supposed to get hot. If this continues, have it looked at because something has failed within the hardware.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Thank you for reaching out. The fingerprint sensor relies on an accurate read to respond. Have you considered adding the same finger multiple times and in different orientations. As for the heat, you have to make sure to have the computer sitting on a flat even surface with all vents free of obstructions. If you believe you are having any issues that are not typical I would reach out to the HP support team to assist with it. 800-HP-Invent.
