• Most inks I've used have the colors and black separate or as a multi-pk.

• Hello HAL9000. The WF-2830 requires using all color ink cartridges, including cyan, magenta, yellow, and black, to function. The printer will allow you to print temporarily in "Black Ink Only" mode. However, we recommend replacing any expended color cartridges as soon as possible as this can lead to print-head-related issues. Regards, Kevin - The Epson Team.
