No. Your printer won't work unless there is ink cartridges in all the areas where in case needed whether it be black-and-white or color.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You need to have the cartridges all installed. I'm not sure if it will continue to print with the empty color, it does use the combined colors to help "conserve" on the black ink.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No. The Epson Machines require all cartridges to be fully inserted, The printers also can detect color matches, so a yellow, cyan and magenta cartridge have to go into the right slots, empty or full.
