Since I haven't seen an answer to this anywhere, I had to find out. This will be easier with 2 people, one to hold the printer and one to release the tray, but it can be done by yourself. Carefully tilt the printer back so you can see the underside of the printer. I said tilt, because I don't think it's a good idea for the ink laden printer to be set on it's back. On the bottom and on the back of the paper cassette, there are 2 claw catches that are preventing the cassette from sliding out. Carefully pinch together the claw from each side and gently pull forward the cassette will come out. Assemble in reverse order.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.ET-3830, filled paper tray with 8x11, slid it in, but it wouldn’t pull out again. The problem was the right-hand, blue slider that butts against the width of the paper—it was out of it’s groove/slot so it raised too high on the right. Solved by reaching fingers into opening to remove paper; tilted the machine up slightly; inserted a flat wooden ruler and pressed down on top of the blue slider tab on the right-hand-side; and slid the slider tab into the middle of the tray, as if setting it up for 4" width paper. The tray pulled out easily when the blue slider was moved moved away from the right edge. Then pressed the under-paper extension of the blue slider down into the groove/slot in the bottom of the tray. This snapped the slider down into its groove. Then moved the slider back to the right. Having lowered it into the groove/slot, it then slid in and out easily. Refilled the paper, and no problem since. Hope yours is just as easy to fix.
