Hi Resa. The Epson ET-8500 is not designed for dye-sublimation printing nor the use of non-genuine Epson Ink Cartridges. Using sublimation Ink in this printer can affect warranty coverage and create print head and ink-system issues. Regards, Kevin - The Epson Team.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It can be used as a sublimation printer. You just need to use sublimation ink and paper. But keep in mind, it can't be changed back. Once you put in ink for the first time, whether it be sublimation ink or regular ink, you can't ever use any other kind or you will mess up the printer, permanently. I have two. One for sublimation and one for regular printing. I love this printer that much.
