QuestionI have an xp-610 and wireless only works on 2.4g wifi. it will not accept request from Epson IPrint when my phone is connected to 5g wifi. what does this one accept/use?

- Answer Hi merlin, The Expression Photo XP-8700 connects to 2.4 GHz like your XP-610. If you require 5 GHz for your router consider the Expression Photo XP-970. QuestionHi, can I use this printer normally with just the Epson 312 Black ink cartage and the Epson 3 pack of the 312 Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow cartridges, or does it require the additional package of Light Cyan and Light Magenta ink installed to operate? Thanks!

- Answer Hello Bull. Although the XP-8700 can connect to a Wi-Fi router that uses 5 GHz, it can only work on a 2.4 GHz band. You want to ensure the router operates in dual-band (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) mode. If your router uses a single network name (SSID) for both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, we recommend giving each band its own network name (SSID) instead, such as Home Network 2.4 GHz and Home Network 5 GHz. - Answer Hi BNOD, While we cannot test all third-party media with the Expression Photo XP-8700, it does work with Epson Iron-On Cool Peel Transfer paper. Epson cannot guarantee the quality of any non-Epson brand or type of paper. Always test a sample of paper stock before purchasing large quantities or printing large jobs. - Answer Hi Negatives, Epson's all-in-one printers like the ET-8500 do not have the necessary transparency unit to scan negatives. Two of Epson's dedicated photo scanners at Best Buy (inventory levels can vary) do scan film. The Perfection Photo V600 includes holders for 35mm film, 35mm mounted slides, and 6 x 22 cm medium-format film. The Perfection Pro Photo V850 is a tool worthy of professionals with many additional features. It includes all the film holders that come with the the V600, but it also includes 4" x 5" holders. QuestionCan I print two 3x4 prints together on one 4x6 size photo paper with this model?

QuestionHi there - will the scanner scan if the printer is out of ink?

- Answer Hi CADreamer, It depends. If a color cartridge is expended, you can continue scanning and printing using only black. We recommend replacing expended cartridges as soon as possible.
