Yes, you can print on appropriate DVD media - there is a DVD print tray included with the printer.

I have not tried but the instructions are present to perform this function, so I assume it can.

Yes. It has a CD tray, so I would assume yes, but I haven't need to use it yet.

Why would a special cd tray be provided if it wasn't capable of printing in a DVD or CD?

I can tell you that I know there is a [;ace for a dvd but I have not tried that the Geek squad should answer that question I can not
