I believe if the ink cartridges are still sitting in your old printer they should be safe to switch to the new one. Once the little plastic covering strip is removed they shouldn’t sit around exposed to the air as the port could begin to dry out. Theoretically this could produce a clog in your new printer if the ink is not still viscous at the exit point from the cartridge. Ink is expensive but clearing a clog in a printer Can be messy and difficult. Your call.
