Q: QuestionWe are interested in scanning photos as well as receipts. We really don't want two scanners, and this one seems like the best choice for photos. Can this scan receipts and export to Quickbooks like the RapidReceipt RR-600W?

• A:Answer Absolutely. I have scanned, besides old photos, receipts on papers of various stock. note that I normally scan receipts singly and not in batches. If the stock quality is similar, I suspect that you will not have jamming issues. Also, I have scanned photos in batches without any problems to date; so, I would think that you would be able to scan receipts in batches.

• A:Answer 100% Mac compatible. I used it with my 16" M2 Macbook Air. It's incredibly fast and it amazed me when the files were importing, how quickly the scanner additionally produced a file of their version of a color fix for any photos I had that were aged. I also like that if a photo has writing on the back, that gets scanned in simultaneously, preserving the photo and whatever could be on the back side. It's a really awesome tool for archiving old family photos.

• A:Answer It has it's own power supply so I don't understand what power you are talking about. It works wirelessly using your internet connection and works well. I'm using windows 11 but i'm sure it would work with and older system.

• A:Answer Yes it can but sometimes the variable thickness of a polaroid makes the scanner think there's a jam. But unless you have hundreds of polaroids I would recommend a regular flat bed scanner.

Q: QuestionIf I scan 100 photos to “Summer 2001” then scan some to “Summer 1999” can I go back and scan more photos to the first folder without overwriting the numbering? If I scan 3 more photos to “Summer 2001” will they be numbered 101, 102 etc?

• A:Answer Yes, definately. This is one feature I really like about the scanner because it's easy to go to any folder you've used for scanning, and continue adding photos to the previous file names that you have used in that folder.

• A:Answer I also bought a laptop last minute along with this to get pics for a funeral scanned in, due to being on a time crunch, so no experience trying to do it directly to a flash drive. I figure that I had to have a way to transfer them to shoot them over in an email.

Q: QuestionAnyone know what sometimes causes single-step-scanning of the back of a document to have a discoloration or intensified color? E.g. the document is beige/orange on both sides. The front comes out accurate, the back is bright red. Glass is clean.

• A:Answer You can choose a file prefix or naming pattern for your photos and they will be numbered, e.g. "FFPic_nnnn.jpg" or "1987_June_USA_RoadTrip_nnnn.jpg" (Year/Month or Season/Subject). The latter would use "6/1/1987" as the "Date Taken" which you can also later edit. You'd have to use your operating system or third-party-app to assign Metadata tags or comments (e.g. File Explorer in Windows).

• A:Answer If you use "Describe Your Photos" you should be able to start a new scanning session and select the same [Year/Month or Season]/Subject parameters and it would give the photo the next number in that batch and folder.

• A:Answer I was looking for something similar. I wanted to reset folder photo counts. I found a reference to a config file on this board here by poster MarkT. Look in: "C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\EPSON\FastFoto\" for the file "config.json". The subjects you entered are listed under "photo_prefix_custom_subjects" and "saved_file_prefix_names". I assume you can (carefully) remove those you don't want. I have not tried this myself other than overtype key values. Do not have the FastFoto app started while editing and saving back. Definitely back up the config file first.
