Not without an external receiver in between your projector and other devices. The projector does not support ARC (Audio Return Channel), nor does it have a dedicated digital output. Your devices must either have audio to your receiver and video to the projector, or have HDMI to the receiver with video output then to the projector.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The HC 1060 (new or refurbished) has no sound output capability except for the built in speaker ... which is "OK" for what it is. Depending on your application you could feed audio directly from the home theater to your speakers, (there is no pass through or audio out in this unit). Although, you can get surround sound with an audio extractor, ($25-30). HDMI input into extractor than output video via HDMI to projector and audio output via RCA or digital, (2 CH or 5.1 CH) to your sound system. Example: I'm streaming Netflix from smartphone or tablet to a Google Chromecast which is plugged into a J-Tech Digital audio extractor than HDMI output into Epson 1060 projector and RCA 2CH to my outdoor speakers. If I had 5.1 CH setup, I'd use the extractor's SPDIF, (Sony/Phillips Digital Interface), output and digital cable into a 5.1 surround system. Sounds complicated but it's not really.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't use surround sound with this projector. Let me add some info that may help. The projector has worked great. I comes with inputs for HDMI, Component video to VGA, and Composite RCA video in. It also has a HDMI-MHL input for tablets and smartphones. This is what I use the most to teach a class on smartphones. It does not have a built in audio output. One solution is to use an audio extractor. I purchased a J-Tech Digital HDMI audio extractor. Details of the device are in the attached photo. I haven't had the need to try it yet, but it got good reviews.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The unit doesn’t have audio out. If you use a fire stick or something similar, you can pair the Bluetooth from the fire stick to your surround sound and get the audio from there. There are some boxes out there that will extract the audio from the hdmi signal but it just depends on what you are working with.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes you need to connect to the receiver and you can have the surround sound!
