- Answer Hello CBM Yes, the ES-400 II can scan ID cards. They must be no more than 2.1" × 3.3" in size and 0.05" in thickness. Laminated cards should be 4.7" × 5.9" in size and 0.03" in thickness. Regards, Kevin - The Epson Team.

- Answer Hello Cinderella. The ES-400 II can load approximately 50 sheets of plain paper. Please note if you are trying to scan other items, depending on the size and thickness, that number can vary. - Answer Hi mcpw18, The Epson Scan 2 software included with WorkForce ES-400IIs includes an Edge Fill feature that can create a black frame around the outside of the scanned image. You can adjust the thickness of the frame in the software. Regards, Dylan - The Epson Team.

- Answer Hi, the program does give you an option to save as Word, Excel and PowerPoint. This screen pops up that states I have to download a plug-in to convert it to a Word document? Not sure what that can be, but it does look like it’s an option. See photo below.

QuestionI have an old multifunction printer that creates PDF "version 1.3". I cannot upload PDFs of this old version. Can I solve this problem by buying a new scanner? If I use this scanner to create a PDF what version will the resulting PDF be?

- Answer Current standards are 2.x, but 1.3 should still open in pdf readers. I save in 1.5 on a regular basis and have never had an issue with a client not able to open the file.

- Answer Hell JUANA. The ES-400 II is an updated version of the GT-S50. Besides cosmetic and slight functional differences, the most important is the increase in speed. The ES-400 II can scan approximately 35ppm/70ipm vs the GT-S50 at 25ppm. Regards, Kevin - The Epson Team.
