I bought this printer a BestBuy a few weeks ago specifically for two-sided scanning. It does not deliver two-sided scanning. When I went back, BestBuy said they can't help. To be clear: the printer scans documents ONLY ONE SIDED from the feed tray. I suppose you are expected to flip everything over and scan the back sides then mix the images together in Adobe acrobat. This is not an acceptable interpretation of two-sided scanning. BestBuy advertises this as a double-sided scanner (as of 19-June-2021 https://www.bestbuy.com/site/epson-workforce-pro-wf-3820-wireless-all-in-one-printer/6426722.p?skuId=6426722). This is incorrect. Officemax knows better, and gets it right (as of 19-June-2021 https://www.officedepot.com/mb/skupage/productDetail.do?skuid=9735109). OfficeMax website offers the same printer for the same price, but clearly marks it as NOT two sided scanning. Epson says they offer duplexing software to help the scan-then-flip-then-scan process along (as of 19-June-2021 https://files.support.epson.com/docid/cpd3/cpd39449/Source/Product_Info/Concepts/two-sided_print_scan_copy_wfbm4590.html)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I baffles me that all these printers no longer have dual sided scanning... No I don't want the software to put it together. I can only assume that it is less expensive so they stopped doing it even though people probably need it now more than ever! I found a used Workforce 645 for dual scanning. EPSON... if you're listening.. there is a market out there!!!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Best Buy STILL advertises this as two-sided scanning. In the specs its says Duplex scan function: Yes Not true Best Buy.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. It took me a while, but I figured it out. Go to Epson Software, then Epson ScanSmart feature in the Windows Start, Using the ADF, after scanning the first side, you do have to manually re-insert the document back into the ADF exactly the way it comes out, do not flip. Then on the screen, you will see a +scan in a smaller blue box upper middle area, click that, click next and you will see you are now scanning page 2. Click Next and proceed with the normal scan directions, and once saved, you can now select, "print on both side" to print. If you should make a mistake in the scanning sequence, maybe scan the same page twice, there is a delete option at the top of the page, use it to delete the incorrect item and proceed with scanning the second page. Click Next and choose which option is best for your document.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Just to add to the others, if you are using a mac the scanning software is useless. It installs (kind of) but there is nothing there). The only way I have got it to scan is via the macs system preferences/printers and scanners utility.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Really? I called ESPON support and they had no idea of any ESPSON software that is included with the unit to support this feature....
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi Curley, The WorkForce Pro WF-3820 does not scan both sides of a document in a single pass through the auto document feeder. You can scan a stack of paper, flip it and scan the back. The included software will join the pages together. The WF-3820 has a duplex to print on both sides of a sheet. Regards, Mark - The Epson Team.
