“Does the Epson WorkForce Pro WF-7840 Printer have a Depth (From Front of Printer to Rear of Printer) of 38.4". I thought its depth would be similar to the WorkForce WF-7840 Printer of approximately 18"?”

The Workforce 7840 dimensions are 18" deep, 14" high, and 20" wide. If you use the 2nd tray for larger paper than 8.5 X 11, it will stick out farther.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don’t have mine here to measure but I think that’s the overall dimension with all trays open. The wide format paper feeds from the rear on a tray that is manually opened. Letter size paper feeds from the front and that tray remains closed. But all printed documents exit at the front on a tray that opens when the printer is in use. The unit does occupy a large space but the results are impressive.
