A:AnswerI am new to this printer/scanner and had the same problem. Under SCAN SETTINGS, you can deselect AUTO MODE. In SCAN SMART, you can, you can select SCAN AREA. I found the easiest thing for me to do was to place a normal sized piece of blank paper over the smaller sized paper after placing it on the glass surface. The scanner / copier will detect the backing paper and perform as it should. I like to center the document to be copied within the boundaries of the backer sheet, or you could place it on an edge for trimming.
