- Answer Hello. The thickest paper the Epson WF-7840 supports is 68 lb (256 g/m2). If the card stock you plan to use meets this specification, select Thick Paper in the printer driver when printing. Regards, Kevin - The Epson Team.

QuestionHas anyone experienced unsatisfying photo quality? No matter how high resolution the photo has, photos always come out dull and grainy. FAR from commercial quality- comparing to local print services like Walmart, not a photo studio. Any solution or tip?

- Answer There are Epson app ‘s (Epson iPrint, and Epson Smart Panel) for the iPhone, but I don’t use it. I just use the print function that is already on the phone. Don’t know about the androids.

QuestionCan the WF-7840 print a black/white document if it's out of color ink? Does anyone know the steps to do this?

- Answer Hi Robert, If you send a print job to the WF-7840 and a messages pops up on your Windows computer saying the printer is out of black ink, cancel the print, then open the printer driver settings menu, select Black/Grayscale and resend the print job. Printing with one or more expended color cartridges works with plain paper and envelopes. Instructions for Macs are in the WF-7840s user's guide. We recommend replacing expended cartridges as soon as possible to prevent ink drying around the nozzles and potentially damaging the print head. Regards, Mark - The Epson Team.

QuestionI have recently updated my computer to Windows 11 and now I can not get the WF 7840 printer to scan. I have Epson smart scan downloaded on my computer but when I try to scan documents the printer and computer do not seem to speak with each other. HELP

- Answer It may be a setting. When you are printing in draft versus high quality, the draft will be much lighter in color. I'd check that first.

- Answer Hello Alex. Photo Black is not required as the WF-7840 is a four-color printer that only uses Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black.
