I actually purchased the r7 first. Then exchanged for max 360c. I regret it. The r7 detected all bands better. Only issue was the arrows were a bit inconsistent and it was definitely a noisier detector. Max 360c definitely had better filtering for false alerts. Plus the benefit of auto lockouts. But sometimes the 360c would lock out signals that you dont want locked out. The 360c seems to alert just barely in time to slow down while the r7 would alert from extremely far away. I had gotten the r7 when it first came out so the firmware it was on wasnt dialed in yet. But they have updated it and fixed a lot of the issues since I had it. The max 360c have yet to fix the simplest of issues like speed limit not showing when connected to wif. I have called and emailed them repeatedly, and tons of owners have also inquired to escort on their forums without issues being fixed. If you don't mind occasional false alarms I would go r7. If u want a quiet radar with real threat alerts just in time to be able to slow down go with max 360c. Side note, I passed by a photo radar in Denver today and my max360c didnt make a sound. And your question about passing police with no alert. It will only alert if they have their radar turned on. If they are using laser chances are it will not pick it up.

I was torn between the two but leaning strongly towards the Escort Max 360c because I’m a fan. I’ve been using the redline for several years and I’ve come to trust the performance and the brand. Getting ready for a road trip to put the escort and R7 through their paces I updated both device to their latest firmware and set them up to mirror each other with setting options. Settings- TSR-Off, K-Narrow, KA 2,4,5,6,8 seg, k-block enabled on Uniden. I started out a 6 hours family vacation trip with the Escort which was very quiet, I alerted to a couple of k-flashes in the city but began to feel uneasy when I passed up two separate traffic stops with no alert to KA band, both stops were within 1/8 mile distance give or take. About 300 miles into my trip a SO unit and I were in passing on a two lane road, my detector finally let out a KA alert when I was within 1/8 mile (killzone). Thankfully I was doing the speed limit but needless to say I pulled that detector off my windshield and installed the Uniden R7. To keep it light the Uniden R7 did what it was born to do, I got my first KA alert immediately after pulling onto the HWY, the source was an unmarked car that had to be at least a mile away. I passed up a couple more unfortunate folks who were pulled over, this time getting KA alerts at least I mile before I even saw the traffic stop. The R7 also did great with BSM rejection and K-Falses. I maybe had one or two false alerts while driving through small towns. I hope this helps, perhaps a got a bad unit but this is just my experience with escorts latest and greatest. I definitely liked the look and feel of the Escort, it has a very premium feel to it. Whereas the R7 is lighter and plastic like, if that makes sense. I like escorts app for the detector but waze will also work. I also like where escort is going with the “connected” Soulutions. However, I don’t like it at the expense of performance.
Sorry, there was a problem. It is very important the location for the detector remembering its has a front and rear antenna so neither of those antennas are blocked completely so you will have a truly efective radar.

Hard to remember after not owning a radar detector for years that cops aren’t always clocking your speed, even when they seem to be sitting in medians and shch.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I actually used the radar today and a cop used the laser on me, which it did alarm me of.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Just because you see a police officer doesn’t mean they have their radar on. It’s a radar detector not a police detector.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. My buddy loves Uniden and I actually tried the R7 and returned it for the MAX360C. I would make sure your app is downloaded and paired to the detector. Also adjust the settings because KA band has different adjustments. On the app, you pass a cop is a perfect time to mark a cop car spotted and it will ask stationary or moving.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. They don't always have them on. Sometimes they see you coming and radar you at the last second.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't think it picks up the car I believe it picks up the radar gun. if they are not running the gun it wont pick them up
