Q: QuestionDoes this radar detector has all the radar modes plus LASER detection front and back? I currently have 9500iX. What does this radar provide more than the one I currently have which is the ESCORT 9500iX. Please answer ASAP. Thx!

• A:Answer This radar does have laser detection front, back, and sides. So, the Redline, is able to connect to your phone either Bluetooth or WiFi, if you have the DriveSmarter app on your phone. It links to give you updated speed zones, and you can tag police, speed traps and various other radar controlled areas throughout the city. It has built in GPS that has an AutoLearn feature. It's definitely one of the quietest radars I've owned. Also, the software is able to update via phone Bluetooth or WiFi. I upgraded from an Escort 8500iX.

• A:Answer Hi, Their is a 3.5mm headphone jack on the side, you would need to plug a headset into it in order to hear the alerts. They do NOT play over Bluetooth

• A:Answer No, you would have to run the ZW5 Laser Shifters in tandem with the radar detector. On Escorts website: "While radar jammers are prohibited by federal law in the U.S., laser shifters are currently legal in 38 states; the exceptions are California, Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota, Nebraska, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, and the District of Columbia." • A:Answer I do not have mine mounted as I am leasing. I just set it on the dash while I’m using it & when I park anywhere I put it down in my console to stay out of the sun & not get stolen. Sometimes I forget to put it back up on the dash & it still works. I’m not sure if the signal is as strong though. For the price, this thing has already paid for itself!

• A:Answer Detection range varies depending on the type of device, radar or laser, and the environment. On open, flat, straight roads expect several miles of warning to radar. You will notice less range on curvy, hilly, roads with a lot of obstacles such as buildings and trees. With laser expect 1/2 to 1/4 mile range, again depending on the environment. For maximum laser detection performance, be sure the detector is mounted level and low on your windshield with nothing blocking its view of the road.
