• It powers your detector as well as makes it Bluetooth capable. The Bluetooth ties your detector to your smartphone so you can use the Escorts Live app, which is a huge advantage if you live in an over eager police area like I do. It shows other users in your area as they detect speed traps, cameras, ect. In real time. Also ties into the new M1 dash cam. I believe it comes with your model new in box. The newer detectors have the Bluetooth built into the unit to axcess same options. Check your unit for the built in option. Buy the extended warranty, they break easy & are expensive to replace as you are aware. Good luck out there!
