QuestionI have the 1040 coffee/ espresso model.. when switching over to make froth is the pump supposed to be loud like a generator sound? It doesn’t seem right that it should be loud..

- Answer No. It is possible that there is no water in the circuit I suggest you follow the Priming the Circuit instructions in the booklet Let some water flow out the frothing nozzle and then you should not have that issue when making steam

QuestionMy filter holder will not move in the grooves of the Group head. What will happen if I place a bit of oil on the groove? I have checked the path all is clean and it will not budge to the right or left once in place.

QuestionI love this machine, however, just today the coffee feature had a difficult time sucking up the water, when it did it made a grinding sound and thumping, now it sounds clogged. It takes an hour to filter 6 cups of water.

QuestionIs the EM-1040 BPA-FREE? Is any part of the aluminum construction within the EM-1040 in direct contact of the product to be consumed? ie: heating element, water spouts, etc.?

- Answer The plastic used is BPA free There are stainless steel tubes in the thermal block so water NEVER touches any aluminum
