This system does allow you to use it on wi-fi mode only, if desired to get closer connection with cameras. This may affect lag time however, depending on your amount of bandwidth available.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Homebase can be moved around your house to have better connection to your cameras. It doesn’t need to stay connected with an Ethernet cable to your router for it to work.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The base unit has to be setup wired, initially. However, once setup you can enable wireless for the base unit and place it in the best location. All my cameras are fairly close to the base unit but my fathers has a couple that are pretty far away. Signal strength is impressive.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Ethernet cable required to setup Homebase and install updates. Keep connected then in App turn on wireless. Enter your router and password. Afterwards disconnect ethernet cable and move Homebase with AC power unit to better location. All cameras work through Homebase. I have not tried using two Homebases for signal coverage. 2 Pro 2k cameras are supposed to be able to support video transmission to each other. So a distant cam can feed a closer cam to Homebase.
