You must use the included chime. You also need to connect a bridge adaptor to your existing chime. It's simple to setup. I initially thought this would be a bad thing, but I find the tones of the included chime so much better than my "ding-dong" chime. Just plug it into a corner somewhere and it's not a big deal.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, this doorbell doesn't work with the existing chime. The doorbell wiring requirement is 16-24VAC, which is very common in most houses. The doorbell comes with a eufy chime. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us via [email protected] or call us at +1 (800) 988 7973.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I haven't tried to use my existing chime. The instructions do say that the doorbell will probably function but might work sporadically unless you bridge your current chime to give extra power to the doorbell. This disables your current chime so, I would say, officially, you should use the eufy chime if you want your doorbell cam to work reliably..
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Usually no. The typical setup uses the transformer from your chime to power it. However, because they operate differently, you have to add a jumper to the transformer to get the power to work right. The doorbell also doesn't change the amount of electricity traveling through the system when you push the button so it shouldn't send the right signals to your existing chime to make it work. There are some chimes that will still work, I'm not sure why they do but they are rare and it would take an electrician to tell you why and if yours does. i wouldn't count on it.
