• no I had to buy a different kind this is for the HDTV only

• I tried this on my older TVs. It works ok. I got around 15 channels. Tried on a new Tv and had much better results. I get 35 channels

• As long as there is a coaxial input in the back of your tv (the screw looking piece with a hole in the middle that the cable wire would normally screw onto) then this antenna would definitely work. Being that your tv is 14 years old, like mine, there should be a coax input back there.
