Twist it all the way to the left. Should pop off after.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You don’t need to get it off the wall to change the battery. You can just open the battery compartment which is on the front of these detectors instead of the back. However, if you prefer, you can take it off the wall by twisting it off the base. You first screw a base onto the wall which is just a circular plastic piece. Then you attach the detector onto the base by just twisting it on. To change the battery, just twist the detector off the base and open the battery compartment. Again, the battery compartment is on the front so you don’t need to take it off the base if you don’t want to.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If it was mounted using the supplied hardware then you just twist it counter-clockwise about 1/4-1/2 turn and it comes right down. Once down, the battery compartment simply pulls open and you can change the batteries. One of the nice things here is that it uses AA batteries (2) instead of 9v.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No need to remove it out of the wall, the battery compartment slides on the side (top left). There is a mounting bracket attached to the wall/ceiling and the alarm can be removed from the bracket by twisting it If needed
