No, these things basically count how many times u move ur arms which supposedly ur arms move in accordance to ur steps, but it's absolutely unrealistic nor accurate.

Yes, it does display steps easily. All you have to do is tap the screen and it will move through different stats, from the time to the amount of steps taken to your heartbeat, etc.

You can set up your Fitbit to display steps just by raising your wrist, tapping on the screen, or pushing the button. I think the font size is very easy to read.

The fitbit has a three axis accelerometer. Movement and steps are calculated similarly. My assumption is that the average step is 2.5 to 3 feet apart. And it will most likely take that into consideration.
