It depends what you're going for.... Unless you want to set up the payment feature of the watch (like apple pay or Samsung pay, etc) I don't recommend spending the extra on the versa se. I knew I'd never use that because I don't even like to have my cards linked to my phone let alone a watch that can so easily be taken advantage of. As for the versa vs. the ionic, for me it was more about the look than the features. I prefer the more rounded look of the versa and usually have my phone on me for any GPS related workouts. If you really want the built in GPS, to not have a phone with you, then the extra cost might be worth it for you... Either way, they are all good products, just have to decide what fits for you.

The Versa had the features I was looking for plus food tracking, easy to use app with connectability with other health/Fitness apps, water resistance and size. This model does not have the NFC pay feature but tapping my wrist vs phone was not worth the extra money to move up to the next model, The Iconic is a great unit and has similar features, its styling is very attractive but lacks some of the flexibility that the Black has based on availability of third party items such as protective bumpers, I am active so survivability is big with me.

Nice design compared to the Ionic - the Versa is smooth - no sharp edges or corners. It sits flush to your wrist, and the design isn't "in your face techie" like the Ionic. With the huge selection of bands available from both Fitbit and third party sellers on eBay, it can look casual and rugged, or elegant, masculine or feminine or anywhere in between (or totally gender neutral). My pick is the Versa. Nice design, excellent function.
