In terms of charging, the product's battery life lasts a year, not necessitating a connection (other than bluetooth) to your Mac. I don't own a Mac but I use the fitbit app with Windows, iPad, and iPhone. (Look for the fitbit app for use with the Macs!)

Please try again later.As long as you can plug the wireless USB sync dongle into your computer (this is the smaller USB device--not the charging cable), and bring your tracker near to it to begin pairing you should not have any problems. I have a Mac and have not had any problems. There is also a FitBit app for your phone that you can use as well.
