A:Answer Mine said the same thing because i was still paying for last month’s apple music subscription. But my subscription just ended today, and i cancelled my subscription beforehand. So this morning as soon as my subscription ended i was able to redeem 5 months free, and was considered a “returning customer”, because i no longer had a plan set up with apple music. Apple tried to tell me i had to be a cancelled apple music subscriber for 3 years!! in order to be considered a returning customer….but obviously that’s not true! If you have a previous subscription, just wait until it expires and do not renew it. Then redeem the code and you’ll be considered a returning customer.
