A refrigerator that is "Garage Ready" essentially has a small heater that tricks the thermostat in the fridge into running your compressor so that your freezer keeps your freezer items frozen. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.A loose marketing term but generally, it is intended to operate at lower and higher ambient temperatures. Normal freezers and refrigerators are usually in a house where the temperatures are fairly stable. Garages can get much hotter and colder. “Garage ready” freezers can operate from maybe 0–100 F. It is still advisable to try and keep the garage temperature as close to 75 as possible as the freezer will still be most efficient at that temperature.
