• I don't think a carpet would be a problem. I think under a counter would be fine. I would suggest about 2 inches to the sides because this is where the heat radiates out, from the lower half of the sides and gets rather warm.

• Yes it can be sit on any types of floor (more preferable) but it can also be sat on the carpet area.

This is a freestanding refrigerator not recommend for under counter installation. The clearance calls for 3' on back, sides, and top of the appliance.
