This unit drains through a hose out the window. It doesn’t drain within the unit

Please try again later.If you use it just as an air-conditioner, no buckets necessary as that the little moisture collected will be spit out through ventilation hose to outside with airflow. If you use the unit though as a dehumidifier only (no cooling air) then a standard garden hose can be attached to the rear of the unit to collect excess moisture. If you want to use buckets rather than leading hose to outside areas I suppose that is possible, but any bucket will do, I think.

In most cases, your portable air conditioner will disperses the /moisture water into the outside air through the exhaust hose.
