QuestionInstalled this AC few days ago. Had it sit for more than 24 hours, then 2 hours after installation, but it does not seem to cool the room. Is this a defective model that should be returned within the 14 days ? The install in not easy as this is heavy.

- Answer you might just have some settings wrong make sure you hit the mode button on the remote and you set it to cool and also set the lowest temperature to see if its cooling make sure your not in fan only mode or eco mode if you are in eco mode it will shut the unit down when the desired temp is reached. the install is very easy just install the top bar/install the side pleats/install unit in window with included padding and your pretty much done unit is light weight at 52lbs unless your a teenage

QuestionI bought this unit to replace an old air conditioner that was placed in a cut out area on an outside wall. Since this new unit looks like it has side ventilation I'm wondering if it will be a problem placing it in the same cut out area?

- Answer If the in-wall mounting blocks the side vents it is not a good idea. The vents are there for a purpose.

- Answer Hi Chet! Thank you for your inquiry. The recommended with window dimensions are listed as follows: Height (Min.) 13-1/4" and Width (Min. / Max.) 24" / 36". The recommended window dimensions would be different from the dimensions of the air conditioner, because the adjustable sides have to be factored in. We hope this helps! -Thanks!-

QuestionDose this unit already have a drainage hole for the water or do you have to drill your own because I don't see any holes or drain plugs for the water to drain out of

- Answer I have never had to drill a drainage hole for any of my past units or for this one. I know it is recommended for window units to be slightly on a downward angle to allow for drainage, but I just put mine in how it fits. If taking the unit out of the window make sure to run in fan mode for about an hour to dry up condensation so you don't get water everywhere.

- Answer Open Box means that someone bought it and opened it. For whatever reason they returned it and once the store checks it out to see if it’s still functional, they start to mark it down in order to sell. You can still purchase the Geek Squad protection plan on it too! Win-Win : )

QuestionWhat are the clearance requirements on the outside of the unit; back and sides? I want to use it in the garage window, but there is a fence roughly 16 inches away. It will fit in the window, but will only have an inch or so between the fence and the AC.

- Answer If you have aluminum windows, will be a snug fit. And that's if the sash and sill will accept the top and bottom bar of the A/C cabinet. If wood, maybe. Sills vary from window to window. And you should add 11/2in for the top and bottom bar of the cabinet. Some wood windows are just made that way. You may consider one size smaller. I wanted 10K, but had to settle for 8K because of window size. Bought two, and have no complaints.
