Hey, Chigirl2! It is recommended to manually defrost your unit if the frost gets to be 3 to 5 mm thick. During the defrost cycle, water will accumulate in the drip tray. The only thing that can cause frost buildup inside a freezer is warm moist air. To prevent frost buildup, ensure that all doors/lids are fully closed, and all gaskets are fully seated in the retaining channel. ~Keyanna
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Mine ices up quickly as I have it in a garage in South Florida. I did find that if the freezer section is empty or has just a few items it will develops frost much quicker. I keep it full and ave reduced ice build up by about 40%. Also make sure you close the doors well and check the rubber around the doors for a tight fit. Good luck
