Hello, Moots. We appreciate your inquiry. Some noise and odors are normal on the first cooking cycle. Please note that an entry acceptance tone (1 beep) will sound each time a key is touched (the oven lock key is delayed by 3 seconds). An entry error tone (3 short beeps) will sound if the entry of the temperature or time is below the minimum or above the maximum settings for the feature. We hope this information helps! - Christi
