Is this a freestanding or a drop in range null

It’s a free standing range. The four induction burners work fine but the claim that there is a separate “heating element” between the two seven inch burners is false. Supposedly this extra heating element creates an even heating surface so you can place a griddle over to make pancakes. Actually what happens is that two hot spots form over the burners leaving the center of the griddle much cooler making the use of a long griddle useless. You would get the same result using two separate fry pans. Clicking on “more specifications” on Best Buy’s website you will see that it claims it has a “bridge” and clicking on the more information symbol it states that the bridge connects the two burners (which it does) but also that there is an additional heating element between those two burners, which it does not. Looking through the owners manual it states that it has a “bridge” but does not state that that that bridge includes an additional heating element. Conclusion: The stove is fine except for the false statement regarding the extra heating element. If you don’t care about using a griddle over the “bridge” then it will probably meet your expectations.
