Hey, Frigidaire Customer! Great Question! It really depends on the humidity level in the room. For a 700 square foot room that feels wet and/or smells musty, has seepage appearing on walls and floors, and even mold growth you may need a 60-70 pint dehumidifier. Whereas a 700 square foot room that often feels damp and often smells musty may only need a 50-pint dehumidifier. Hope this helps! -Alexis
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. In my opinion you will be glad you have the 70 pint capacity for a room of 700 square feet, or more, especially if you must empty by removing, lifting and carrying the water reservoir to an indoor drain and you live in a fairly humid clime.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Consider that the dehumidifier has a humidistat and cycles throughout the day/night until water tank becomes full, at which time the machine cuts off and provides a visual notice that tank full, time to empty. The machine has an alternative hose connection for discharging removed water into drain (or into outdoors).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Not really
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would think that it would work faster and you don't have to empty the water bin as much. It will take up more room I think. Not an expert. Just a consumer. I bought the 70 pint last night and have an almost full tank 12 hours later.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Do your research buying the 70 pint unit will never leave you short on capacity. It will run shorter durations to achieve what a smaller unit will take longer to achieve
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Definitely not. It will simply run less, and probably use less electricity than a smaller unit which will need to run much longer to do the same job. This means that this will be much less wear and tear, so it will last much longer than a small unit struggling to get the job done.
