The 70 pint units contain a tank (plastic in the two I have owned) which is removable from the bottom half of the front of the unit which makes it possible to remove from the unit and empty into any handy drain (or outdoors). An auxiliary hose connection is also provided so that you can avoid the heavy lifting (about 10 pints of water).

Please try again later. No, but you can attach a hose to the unit's "continuous" drain connection and dump the water directly into a floor drain without ever emptying the bucket. (The drain needs to be lower than the connector up on the side of the unit) Or what I do is use a short length of garden hose and dump it to a large (5 gallon) bucket, which I empty daily and so can keep an eye on how much water condensate it is producing. The disadvantage is, if I were ever to forget, my bucket could fill up and overflow. So I keep the bucket on the floor next to a floor drain, so if it does fill, I don't get a flood! Of course, if you use the smaller bucket built into the unit, it has a shut-off to prevent overflow. But under humid conditions it can fill up in less than half a day.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. The 70 pint rating says it'll extract 70 pints in a day. The bucket holds that much water, which is 8.75 gal. If it gets too full, it shuts down.

I recommend using the continuous mode feature that allows you to attach a hose to the unit and eliminates emptying the bucket. Also, you may take a look at our 95-pint dehumidifiers. Hope this helps.
