QuestionI read that I cannot use this unit with an extension cord, is that true? I don't have a lot of outlets in my basement and would need to use an extension cord.

- Answer Yes, it is true that this product under no circumstances can operate with an extension cord per electrical safety requirements. This product must be plugged directly into the appropriate receptacle.

QuestionThis unit will be in a motor yacht. Once it is started, will it re-start if power is interrupted? We have intermittent power outages and need the unit to pick up where it left off when power is restored.

- Answer Yes--that's the best thing about this model. I've connected it to a timer so it only runs at certain times of the day. All your settings resume when the power comes back on.

QuestionFO code displayed & had ice on outside of unit in Sept. In Nov unit no longer displays FO. Frigidaire will replace unit but I need to send a picture of the FO code. Does Low humidity prevent FO code?

- Answer Fill the bucket (in your tub) to the BRIM. Pour in 1pint of bleach. Let sit for 2 days then rinse. It will be perfectly clean again. Takes some patience, but works every time for us.

QuestionKeep getting FO code. I cleaned filter, water tank is inserted properly, and NOT using an extension cord. Basement is around 65 degrees. What else can I check. Unit 4 years old, bought new. Need suggestions, recommendation, fix-it help. thanks.

- Answer Yes. According to the manual, "After a power outage, the unit will memorize the last setting and return the unit to the same setting once power is restored."

- Answer I see that they have a 30, 50 and 70 pint. I have the 70 pint and it work wonderfully. Got it last night and it had an almost full tank in 12 hours. Works great!

- Answer Filter located in front, at point of air intake. Easy to remove from unit and clean with water whenever needed.

The dehumidifier must be plugged directly into a properly grounded and polarized three-prong receptacle. lf the wall receptacle you intend to use will not accept a three-prong plug, or if you are not sure the outlet is adequately grounded or protected by a time delay fuse or circuit breaker, have a qualified electrician install the proper outlet according to the National Electrical Code and applicable local codes and ordinances. Do not use an extension cord or an adapter plug. ~ Brandi

QuestionMold developed in the bottom of the water container. I can’t figure out how to get to the bottom to clean it out. I’ve poured Clorox, peroxide, mold removers into it with no results. Help! I love my dehumidifier but this problem is upsetting.

- Answer My Fridgedaire Dehumidifier has a removeable plastic tank which can be removed by hand, and cleaned with usual cleaners. The tank can be removed and rinsed. Alternatively, use the plastic connector to connect a water hose to the collection tank for 24/7 continuous water removal to a drain or outdoors.
