Yes, we have it vented through the fireplace with open flue. Make sure that there is no hot air or backdraft once you hook it up.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You could if you can seal it up around the hose. This unit will take air out of your house by the exhaust, so you need a fresh air supply. so when all your doors and windows are shut it might be getting the fresh air from the chimney.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It works fine with sliders. I can't see how you would connect the vent to a fireplace flue.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This should work fine on a slider window.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is not a window unit. I would seek permission from them showing how unobtrusive the vent is. DO NOT vent through the fireplace !!!! The small fans in these units will NOT have the power to push the hot air and convection (hot air rising) only goes so far. Fires produce tremendous heat and conversely tremendous up drafts. If you try this through the fireplace the result will be the hot air hanging in the chimney until it builds up so much the unit blows hot air into the room or the fan dies.
