Its because the measurements are wrong. The height of the microwave isnt 15.625" its over 16.. almost 16.5".... one would think they would list the true measurements since we have to order and install them in a hole in an already designed kitchen. I waited 2 months for mine to be delivered and there is tile that goes just under the bottom lip of the mounting bracket ... that shouldnt have interfered if the measurements were correct.... Im guessing maybe an old version of this was 15.625" and they didnt bother updating the meaurements.. lazy ...and their explanation that there is an inch of clearance for installation at 45* is stupid. that would mean sitting on the support bracket there would be an inch gap between the top of the microwave and the bottom of the cabinet.

The hook on the bracket does not connect at the exact bottom of the unit, it allows room for the unit to be slid into place from a 45 degree angle in a square space. A licensed installer may be able to shed some more insight into the process. What we can advise is to follow the installation instructions and it is best to consult an actual installer.- Maria
