QuestionI purchased this Frigidaire Gallery Fridge 6-3-20 FGHB2868TF but it keeps freezing food in the refrigerated section. It comes preset at 37 degrees. I raised it to 40 degrees but still freezes some food.

- Answer Update: Warranty Service just came and diagnosed the problem as the plastic flaps at the end of each shelf at the rear (back wall) of the food compartment thus preventing air flow and making everything freeze. The flaps are just clip-ons and were removed. Hopefully this will correct the problem.

- Answer You have to look up the model numbers of the appliances you wish to match on the frigidaire website to see if they are regular stainless or smudge-proof stainless. Then buy the matching refrigerator. If the last letter of the fridge is F then its smudge-proof. If the last letter is S then its regular stainless.

QuestionHow much clearance on the right side of the fridge do I need to allow to open the door and access everything without issue? My fridge will be 4 inches away from the wall.

- Answer Hi, Steviek911! Thank you for your inquiry. When installing refrigerator adjacent to wall, cabinet or other appliance that extends beyond front edge of unit, 20” minimum clearance recommended to allow for optimum 120° to 180° door swing, providing complete drawer / crisper access and removal. (Absolute 4-1/2” minimum clearance will only allow for 90° door swing which will provide drawer / crisper access with restricted removal.). We hope this information was helpful. -Ciara

- Answer Roughly 34 inches. This includes the water lines in back for ice maker and water spout. Around 36 inches front to back with handles.

QuestionHow noisy is this refrigerator? My kitchen area opens up to my living room and I am very sensitive to sound. Does the unit itself have loud humming sounds and/or popping sounds when the ice maker is working?

QuestionCan one change the temperature of the water that comes out the door dispenser. Or is it room temp always?

- Answer Hey, EJ! The water that comes from the refrigerator will not be cold and will most likely be the temperature of your tap water. This is due to the fact that the water lines have to run through heated areas of the refrigerator and will eventually pass through close to the ice maker to raise the temperature of the water slightly. If I could relate it to the water that is in a garden hose; the water in the hose that has been sitting will be warm until water is constantly moving through the line, becoming cooler. This is the same type of effect of the water passing through your refrigerator. I hope this information is helpful! ~Courtney

QuestionWhere is the shutoff wire in the ice maker for the fghb2868tf when the ice bin is full. I do not see one when the ice maker is removed. A pic would be nice. Thanks PS The owners manual is not helpful.

- Answer Hi, Dave! If you have a ice maker in the freezer, the wire arm should be hovering over the bucket. Pulling it into the "up" position will turn ice production off. The ice maker in the fresh food compartment is self-contained, so you can turn it off and on using the controls on the front display. ~Ashton

QuestionHow do you replace water and air filters in this fridge. I have one and can’t see an air filter and the water filter won’t come out. How do you replace something you can’t find and can’t remove??

- Answer Hi, Dede! The water filter is on a spring and should pop out with a firm push on the end. You may need to use some pressure depending on how long it has been in place. The air filter is located behind the housing at the top of the air tower in the back wall of the refrigerator. It should be changed every six months alongside the water filter. ~Ashton

Your Frigidaire Pure Air Ultra II Air Filter (Part #: 242047805) is located inside the refrigerator cabinet on the rear wall inside of the air tower(where air vent are located). To gain access to the filter, complete the steps listed below: 1. Insert fingers in the circled area of the air tower. 2. Push clips in to release front cover. 3. Remove front cover by pulling towards you and lifting up. 4. Replace air filter by sliding into slots. 5. Installation of the front cover is reverse of removal. 6. To reset Air Filter status, refer to instructions under “Controls Section”. You may view these instructions in your Owner's Manual on page 35. The model FGHB2868TF does have sabbath mode. Sabbath Mode is turned ON and OFF by simultaneously pressing and holding both the “∨” and “+” for five seconds. QuestionCan someone tell me what the 2 numbers on the display mean ? Are they the temperatures that have been set or are they the actual temperatures in the freezer and fresh food compartment ? Mine have read 0 and 37 ever since it was delivered months ago
