The hose should be long enough to reach the drain area. The standard garden hose is all I have used with half inch diameter. The water it carries is minimal and does not need a larger diameter. Only concern is to remember it is gravity fed and cannot be higher than the exit drain on the unit or the water will flow backwards toward the unit.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.A light duty garden hose is sufficient , the water drips continually, it is not a heavy or high pressure flow . Use Teflon plumber tape to insure a good seal and no leaks

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I hooked up a short length of regular garden hose to mine. The hose fitting hooked right up to the dehumidifier without the need for any adapters. (I believe that would be a 5/8 female pipe thread?)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It was recommended to buy just a regular size garden hose. We purchased a 15 foot long inexpensive garden hose but that would depend on where you are putting this in your home and how far it would be from the drain.
