You have to defrost it yourself.

This process heats up the coils inside your freezer to prevent them from frosting over. The downside of a frost free freezer is the propensity to dry out frozen foods. A manual defrost freezer requires periodic "defrosting" - you turn the unit off, remove all frozen foods and place them in insulated cooler bags or bins. You allow the frost/ice to melt, wipe the interior dry and return your frozen food to the freezer and turn the unit back on. This also provides you the opportunity to inventory what's in your freezer and to place older frozen food items closer to the front of the unit so you can use the older items first.
