QuestionCan you scan drivers licenses, passports or ID cards? Or do we still need a flatbed scanner for those documents?

- Answer The iX1500 can scan plastic ID cards, but it cannot scan a passport booklet. The only Fujitsu scanner that can scan a passport booklet through its feeder is the fi-800R. The other option is to use a flatbed scanner, like the fi-7240 or fi-7260. Regards, Eric

QuestionCan this scanner scan business cards?

- Answer Yes, the iX1500 scans business cards and stores the data in a repository under the business card class. You can then sort the cards by company name or personal name. If you view a card there are up to 3 mini icons that you can click on; one opens an e-mail to the person on the card, the other opens the company's web site, and the 3rd icon opens a map showing the location of the person's office. - Answer Yes scans both sides and leaves out any blank pages. It is fast about one sec per doc. You can change the settings if you don't like the defaults to scan better. I think you will love it! I want to scan photos also but right now working on documents for a non-profit.

- Answer I never had the Fujitsu ix500, but I can say that the ix1500 is a really nice scanner. Great true wireless scanning, mobile scanning, scan to multiple locations (even to a cloud service), The unit has a snap-in connection that makes it easier to scan both regular size sheets (8.5x11), receipts (even long ones), pictures, and business cards. I really love this product.

- Answer Thank you for contacting PFU Canada. the IX1500 does not support Chromebook with the USB connector. The IX1500 does have Wifi connectivity to upload documents to the cloud without a computer to Dropbox, Google Drive etc.

- Answer Hi Kristin, all ScanSnap scanners were designed to be as easy to use as possible. To accomplish this Fujitsu developed their own proprietary driver that is not Twain compliant. To add value Fujitsu added a suite of software features to scan and manage all sorts of documents like receipts, business cards, photos and regular document. If you need a Twain driver then I suggest you consider the Fujitsu SP-1120 or the SP-1130. The SP-1120 and the SP-1130 are priced similarly to the iX1500. Regards, Eric

- Answer Yes, the ScanSnap iX1500 can scan to a folder. It can also scan to e-mail, to a printer, Cloud services and Word Excel and PowerPoint. When you scan to one of the Microsoft packages the text in the resulting document is fully editable. You can also store our scans in the ScanSnap Home document repository for quick and easy retrieval. In short, the ScanSnap package is a powerful organizational and productivity tool that works on Mac computers as well as Windows systems. P.S. - Answer Hi, Fujitsu designed the ScanSnap iX1500 to be as easy to use as possible. To do that we had to develop our own proprietary driver that is NOT Twain compliant. - Answer Hello, The ScanSnap iX1500 has a USB 3.1 port as well as Wi-Fi. If you connect the iX1500 to your Wi-Fi network that has Internet access, you can configure the scanner to scan to Cloud services such as Dropbox, One drive, Google Drive and others. After the scanner is configured to scan to a cloud service it can send images to the selected service without a computer. Regards, Eric

- Answer Yes, the software used to do the scanning can be installed on up to 5 computers after you register a ScanSnap account. The scanner will then need to be connected to the computer through USB or wirelessly via Wi-Fi.

- Answer you can put up to 50 docs at one time. and it scans it realy fast you. it would take less then a minuet to scan 50 docs
