A:Answer As with any refrigerator, it really depends on the area you store it in. If your screened in patio is a conditioned space (meaning it is temperature controlled) it would be fine to put your mini fridge in that area, but if it is unconditioned, it depends more on the temperature of the space.
Refrigerators kept in areas below 40 degrees or above 70 degrees are at a greater risk of breaking down sooner than those kept in areas where the room temperature is maintained between the temps mentioned. Below 40 degrees, the cooling or defrost cycles may be compromised. Above 70 degrees, the unit has to work harder to keep everything inside the proper temperature. This goes for freezers as well.
If you don't mind replacing a unit stored in unconditioned space sooner, rather than later, you can do so. Keep in mind, you will likely have to replace it sooner than what the manufacturer states is the standard "life expectancy."
