A well-designed and responsibly specified piece of furniture should be able to hold more than the labeled max weight, but every manufacturer makes their specs different, and there's only so much margin that is fair to expect. I wouldn't worry about an extra 5-10 lbs if the stand seems sturdy but you're talking about an extra 20-25 lbs, maybe even more... I would expect some issues like warping to eventually creep in. Of course, the amount of warping that would occur depends on where the pressure is placed. If your TV uses legs towards the edge of the stand, and is close to the vertical supports, then it may not sag much, if at all. But if the stand holds the TV from the middle, that'll press straight down and be more likely to cause sag. There's plenty of media stands that'll handle much more weight than 60 lbs, so consider finding a different stand, or if you're handy and know what you're doing, reinforce the current stand you have in mind.
