A:AnswerGarmin's Dash Cam devices have a Display Timeout setting which will automatically dim the display of the device after a period of inactivity. The device will continue to record video even while the screen is dimmed (indicated by a red light), provided the microSD card remains in the device and the device remains powered on. This FAQ explains changing the setting: https://support.garmin.com/faqSearch/en-US/faq/content/kz3LVyPPrh3lhRebAvItl7
A:AnswerAs long as the cig plug has power and is plugged in the camera will stay on. From what I have read if you use the parking mode cable it will save all the videos while it is in use. Just leaving it plugged in will record just like it does when you are driving down the road. Hope that helps
A:AnswerThe dashcam is continuously recording by default. As long as you see a small red light ON, it is recording. The cam automatically turns off when the power source is switched off or when one manually pushes the power button to off. The cam automatically turns ON when the power source resumes.
A:AnswerUSB power should not be enough to power the unit. Must use the 12v cord supplied. Don't worry about the cam staying on. It draws very little 12v power...or, just unplug the cord.
A:AnswerYes, the Low-profile Magnetic Mount (010-12530-00) is available yo purchase. The magnetic disk and adhesive material included in the Magnetic Mount kit could be mounted in a second vehicle.
A:AnswerThe camera mount is a ball and socket type and can be positioned wherever you want it and you do have the option of recording with or without audio.
A:AnswerThere are cameras that do this, but not this one. I bought a secod camera and put it on my back window with good results, but I had to rig up a long power cable.
A:AnswerAs in mount I think your talking about the magnet that sticks to the window. Mine came with an extra one in the box. If you don't still have that one you can scrape the one on your old car off and reuse it by using a new piece of 3m emblem adhesive tape that you can pick up and any automotive parts store. If you don't like any of those options try calling Garmin customer service I would venture to guess there would probably send you one or two of them in the mail maybe even free of charge.
