- Answer no it does not. It has an alert to make you aware of gas stations or places stop if you have been driving for 2 hours or more

QuestionIf I want to be able to use a Garmin DriveSmart 61 with my Cardo Bluetooth helmet earpiece, does this mean I need to link my Garmin to the Drive app on my phone, and then, connect the Cardo to my phone to receive directions from the Garmin?

QuestionMy old Garmin is visible even in bright sunlight. The screen does not get drowned out by the sun and I can always see the screen with all of the road images I need all the times. Does this Garmin have the same feature? Is that what is meant by "backlit"?

- Answer Screen is highly reflective and will act like a mirror when sun hits any surface, in the vehicle. Try to keep it shaded.

- Answer Will not update unless connected to the InterNet. Bluetooth is only a short range communication protocall between devices.

- Answer I believe it must be connected to the InterNet to update. You do that through a computer. The only thing the cigarette lighter is good for is power.
