• Any device or location that has a 12 volt dc receptacle for the car power cable plug. You could use a special usb cable that has wiring for the power pins. The short cable that comes with the unit to hook up to computer doesn't charge. It only lets you update.

• Yes it comes with a cord that has a HDMI port on one side so you can use it with a wall plug or the outlet on your computer / laptop and probably a battery backup charger although I have not use that
