QuestionDoes this watch have the ability to use a strava app? If so does the watch track and display live segments on strava?

- Answer I use Strava, and the watch syncs up to my phone either right after I’ve finished a run if my phone is with me, or as soon as it finds it to sync. I’ve not tested to see if it tracks live segments.

QuestionIs there a app/widget I can download for my Forerunner 945 that lets me see messages? Right now when I recieve smart notifiactions I´m not able to read the entire message if it is long. Is there a way to fix this? - to be able to read the entire message?

- Answer Please follow the steps below and see if you can read the entire notification using these steps. Viewing Notifications 1 From the watch face, select UP or DOWN to view the notifications widget. 2 Select START. 3 Select a notification. 4 Select DOWN for more options. 5 Select BACK to return to the previous screen If that doesn't work please go to support.garmin.com where you'll find many helpful FAQ's and video's on the functions of the device. QuestionDo I need a chest strap to monitor my heart rate while swimming? Can I use the chest strap from my Polar V800?

- Answer I went with the garmin hrm-pro which works fantastically. For running and swimming, even under a wetsuit. It also tracks your stride and how even you run on each foot. The hrm-tri is also good I’ve heard, though I’ve never used it. I know that the garmin can sync to other brands of monitors depending on the connection technology.

- Answer I don't think it will provide audible turn by turn directions, but it will vibrate to alert you when a turn is coming up or if you go of course.

- Answer Yes, it will measure heart rate without a check strap. For some activities, OHR may not record as accurate as a chest strap due to the flexion of the wrist. Debbie with Garmin

- Answer Yes you can do both of those with this watch. You can do simple responses to text messages, such as "Yes", "No", "Thank You", etc... You can also program more personalized quick response text messages as well. It doesn't allow for free text.
